The DeSoto Watermelon Association (DWA) is dedicated to supporting watermelon growers, shippers, and industry members in the Heartland of Florida. We promote the cultivation, distribution, and enjoyment of watermelon while making a positive impact in our local community.
A highlight of DWA is our Watermelon Queen Program, which provides young women with opportunities for personal growth, public speaking, and industry exposure. Our Watermelon Queens proudly serve as ambassadors, representing the association at events, festivals, and community engagements. We also invest in the future of agriculture through our AgriFutures Scholarship Program, which annually awards $5,000 scholarships to high school seniors pursuing careers in agriculture. Through these initiatives and our commitment to the industry, DWA continues to support and love the watermelon industry in the heartland of Florida. |
